Nobody tells me nothing.

This indirect communiation is really frustrating sometimes.  I might hear a word or two about a trip or activity, and not understand that I'm expected to participate.  Or I'll hear my name (Gina, at least) in a Setswana conversation and have no idea about what's being said.

The latest example is a trip today by the teachers at the Primary School.  We're going to town on a beer run, then to a game resort to celebrate the end of the school year.  I'd heard an educator on the phone arranging transport for today, but it wasn't until I asked what it was about yesterday that I got any information.  So I just found out about today's trip and cookout.  I'm dressed to the nines in capris, tekkies (tennis shoes) and a big hat.  I've got some cash for a drink so I'm not such an outcast (like at the funeral in the last post), a bottle of sunblock and I'm excited to have a proper braai (cookout).

Tomorrow is Saturday and I'll be busy cleaning my room, washing clothes and packing for my nearly-month-long trip to Peace Corps training, vacation and Christmas holidays.  The Middle School Principal mentioned coming to school tomorrow to work on next year's schedules, I think that was her indirect way of saying I'll be working with her tomorrow too.  And Sunday I'm going to Mpho's village to spend the night so we can travel together to Vryburg Monday morning to catch the bus to training.  So busy busy busy couple of days.

Training is in a hotel and vacation is bouncing around several backpackers on the beach, hopefully there's wireless internet so I can update in the coming weeks.  No matter what though, I'll post a picture of me in the Indian Ocean.  :)
